The Bombay High Court was evacuated on Friday after authorities received an email warning of a bomb threat, court officials and lawyers said.

Lawyers, staff and litigants were asked to leave the premises while police launched an inquiry. Advocate Mangala Waghe told ANI the court had been vacated and investigators were probing the threat. Another lawyer said police ordered the evacuation on instructions from the Chief Justice.

The alert follows a similar warning earlier in the day targeting the Delhi High Court, which also triggered large-scale evacuations and a security sweep. At both locations, bomb-disposal teams and sniffer dog units were deployed and no suspicious object has been reported so far.

Police said they were tracing the origin of the threatening email and continuing searches as a precaution. Court proceedings remain suspended until security agencies clear the premises.
